The story

The Srikrishna Science Centre is Bihar's regional science centre, named in honour of the state's first Chief Minister. It sits in a garden on a quiet lane to the south-east of Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Exhibits near the entrance include an old windmill model with turning blades, recorded dinosaur calls and a sundial that reads the hour from the position of the sun.

Inside, the galleries are spread over several floors. The Fun Science Gallery on the ground floor has hands-on apparatus such as energy balls, musical organ pipes and an exhibit that seems to defy gravity. The upper levels deal with mirror illusions, marine life, human evolution, vortices and the origin of life on Earth, and a 3D show is screened every two hours. The centre also has a workshop, a conference hall and an auditorium.
