The story

Sadni Falls, also called Sadnighagh, lies about 3 km from Rajadera village in Gumla district and some 35 km from Netarhat. Here the Sankh River drops about 60 metres over a scarp. It is classed as a snake-type fall.

Hillocks, forest and streams surround the falls, which are a popular picnic spot. The place has an unexpected past: in the 16th and 17th centuries diamond mines operated here and produced many large, fine stones. There is no railway at Netarhat, so the nearest station is Ranchi, about 110 km away, but buses run regularly between Ranchi and Netarhat.
