Lower Ghaghri Falls is on the Ghaghri River, a tributary of the Auranga, about 10 km from the hill resort of Netarhat in Latehar district. Dropping about 98 metres, it is one of the tallest waterfalls in India and among the main attractions in Jharkhand.
The forest around the falls is so thick that sunlight barely reaches the ground, and the steady roar of the water fills the woods. A smaller fall, Upper Ghaghri, lies about 4 km from Netarhat below the Netarhat Dam.
