The story

Panchghagh Falls is in Khunti district, about 8 km from Khunti on the road to Chaibasa and 55 km from Ranchi. Working its way through hard, jagged ground, the Banai River splits into five streams that churn and swirl over a cluster of rocks, which gives the falls their name.

Unlike Hundru and Jonha, the water here does not fall from a great height, yet the roar of the five streams can be heard well before they come into view. Because the drop is small, Panchghagh is regarded as the safest of the area's falls for getting into the water, and most people come for a picnic with family and friends.
