The story

Hirni Falls lies near Bandgaon in West Singhbhum district, on the edge of the Ranchi plateau. Here the Ramgarha River tips over the plateau rim and drops about 37 metres as a wide, powerful stream of water.

The falls sit in thick forest, and the wooded setting is a large part of their appeal. They lie just off the Ranchi-Chaibasa road, about 20 km from Khunti, 62 km from Ranchi and 68 km from Chaibasa, which makes them an easy outing from any of these towns.
