The story

Fateh Burj is a tower about 100 metres (328 feet) high at Chappar Chiri, near Mohali in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. The Punjab Government built it in 2011 to mark the battle of Chappar Chiri, in which Sikh forces led by Banda Singh Bahadur defeated the Mughal army of Wazir Khan. The victory is remembered as the start of Sikh rule over much of Punjab.

The minar is topped by a Khanda, the emblem of the Sikh faith, and statues of commanders are set around it as if directing a battle. Gardens, water features and paths surround the tower, and the open grounds give wide views, especially at sunrise and sunset. The site is usually less busy than other monuments in the region, and it is a short drive from Mohali and the rest of the Tricity.
