Also called Yadadri, Pancha Narasimha Kshetram or Rishi Aradhana Kshetram, this hill temple at Yadagirigutta in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district is dedicated to Narasimha, the man-lion form of Vishnu. Between 5,000 and 8,000 pilgrims come on an ordinary day for rituals such as Abhishekam and Saswata pujas, and the annual Brahmotsavam is its biggest festival. Worship follows the Tenkalai school of the Vaishnava Agamas.
A flight of steps leads down into the main cave, roughly 12 ft high and 30 ft long, where a great sloping rock forms a roof over the sanctum. Inside are the serpent-like Jvala Narasimha, the seated Yogananda Narasimha and a silver Lakshmi-Narasimha icon, with a Hanuman shrine by the entrance. The Skanda Purana tells of Yada, a sage's son, whose penance led Narasimha to appear in five forms and stay on the hill. A horizontal cleft in the rock is linked to Gandaberunda Narasimha. A recent rebuilding enlarged the complex from about 2 acres to 16 acres.
