This bird park occupies 3.85 hectares inside Udaipur's Gulab Bagh, the garden also called Sajjan Niwas Garden. It was the first park in Rajasthan devoted to birds, and its landscaped grounds and roomy enclosures make it popular with families, children and photographers.
The collection mixes Indian and exotic species. Green and red avadavats, the blue-breasted kingfisher, blue-breasted quail and red-billed firefinch share the aviaries with emus and ostriches. A parrot house keeps red-winged, superb and Senegal parrots, sulphur-crested cockatoos and blue-and-gold macaws. A nocturnal section shows barn owls, spotted owls and the Eurasian eagle owl, and a water area has aquatic birds including great white pelicans.
