The Sas Bahu Temples stand in the village of Nagda, roughly 22 km from Udaipur and under 3 km from the Shaivite shrine of Eklingji. Their original name, Sahastrabahu, means "the thousand-armed one", a title of Vishnu; in local speech it slowly turned into Sas Bahu, or mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Dated to the late 10th century, the site is a protected monument of the Archaeological Survey of India.
A free-standing makara-torana gateway leads in from the east. The larger Sas temple has ten minor shrines around it and the smaller Bahu temple five. Both follow the same plan: a pancharatha sanctum, vestibule, hall with side chambers, porch and balustrades. The outer walls are fairly plain, but Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu appear at the corners with Rama, Balarama and Parshuram above, and other panels show celestial figures and episodes from the Ramayana. A northeast shrine keeps its stone spire.
