The story

Mohangad, also called Jaslodgad, is a ruined hill fort at Shirgaon near Hirdoshi village in Pune district, on the road that links Bhor with Mahad. A letter written by Shivaji in 1659 describes it as having lain deserted for a long time.

On Shivaji's orders Bajiprabhu Deshpande rebuilt the fort, after the defeat of the Bandal ruler at Rohida fort. Today the remains include steps either cut into the rock or built of dressed stone, and a number of rock-cut water cisterns.
