The story

Varandha Ghat is a road pass on the crest of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra, cutting through the Sahyadri range to link Bhor with Mahad. It is one of the routes between Pune and the Konkan, lies 108 km from Pune and runs for almost 10 km.

The pass is known for its setting of waterfalls, lakes and thick forest. On the approach, the road from Nivangan and the Niradevghar Dam twists and turns as it follows the dam's backwaters before the ghat itself begins. Shivtharghal, a place of tourist and religious interest, lies about 15 km from the road.
