Kohima Ao Baptist Church stands in Midland Ward, Kohima, and is the principal church of the Ao Nagas living in the city. It is affiliated with the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang and was among the first Ao churches founded beyond the Ao homeland. Nine members of the community started it in 1939.
Work on taking down the old building began on 1 April 2011, and the present church was dedicated on 28 April 2019 by the senior pastor, Rev. M. Asangba Longkümer. It cost more than ₹26 crore and holds 3,500 people, counting the balcony. The congregation now numbers about 3,500 households and over 9,000 baptised members, with sector fellowships spread across Kohima.
