Kamalasagar is a 10-acre lake in Sepahijala district, believed to have been dug in the 15th century under Maharaja Dhanya Manikya of Tripura. It is best known for the Kamalasagar Kali Temple, also called Kasba Kali Bari, which stands on its shore and attracts devotees of the goddess Kali from across the region.
The temple is generally dated to the 16th century and was raised by a ruler of the Tripura royal house. It has a tall shikhara and carved walls, and the complex contains several smaller shrines to other deities. Around it the lake is a quiet, tree-fringed spot whose still water reflects the surrounding greenery.
