Jagannath Temple in Alwar is a Vishnu temple whose presiding deity is Lord Jagannath of Puri in human form, worshipped alongside SitaramJi, who is the Shaligram maharaj, and JankiJi, identified with Laxmi. It stands several metres above ground level in the old part of the city, and floral motifs decorate its walls and pillars. Unusually, the sanctum holds two images of Jagannath, one movable and one fixed; the fixed image, the much older Budhe Jagannath, is shown for darshan only for five days during the Rath Yatra.
The temple is famous for that Rath Yatra, which follows customs different from Puri's and forms part of the annual wedding celebration of Jagannath and JankiJi at Roopbas. Jagannath rides in a chariot called Indra Vimana, once an elephant carriage of the Maharaja of Alwar, which was later given to the temple for the festival.
