The Ghalib Museum in Delhi is given over to the life and times of the Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib and is run by the Ghalib Academy near the dargah of the Sufi saint Nizamuddin. President Zakir Husain opened it on 22 February 1969 to mark the poet's centenary. It occupies the third floor of the academy building.
The displays show pictures of Ghalib's homes, the food and dress of his era, Mughal-period coins and seals, specimens of handwriting, and postage stamps issued in his memory in both India and Pakistan. There are paintings by M.F. Husain, Satish Gujral, Jayant Parikh and Anis Farooqui, along with calligraphy of his verses. Ghalib's own tomb sits in the courtyard next door on the way to the dargah, and Humayun's Tomb is a short walk away.
