Dhunda Fort, also known as Dundeshwar Maharaj hill, sits on a lone hillock west of the Malegaon–Satana road, about 106 km from Nashik. It was sited to watch over the trade route from Khandesh to Nashik.
Little of the fort survives beyond a few ruined buildings and some dry cisterns. The Bhameshwar temple stands at the foot of the hill, and a path behind it climbs to the summit, where there are two water cisterns and a Mahadev temple. The base village is easy to reach from both Malegaon and Satana, and a visit takes around an hour.
