The story

Bhatinda Falls is a waterfall in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, about 14 km from Dhanbad railway station, from where an auto-rickshaw takes under half an hour. Rough hillocks and green vegetation hide it, and huge rock boulders ring the water.

Two rivers meet close to the falls: the Katari, which rises at Parasnath and runs south to Munidih, and the Damodar, coming in from the east. The rock beds here lie at an angle of about 12 degrees to the current. It is a common picnic spot, and the nearest airports are at Ranchi and Kolkata.
