The story

Bardha Dam, a gravity dam, holds back the Talera river at Deoriya village in Bundi district, Rajasthan. It was built in 1872 by Robertson, the British dewan of Bundi princely state, to irrigate the town of Alphangagr. The dam is about 200 m long and around 21 ft high.

During the monsoon thousands of visitors come from Kota, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, Jaipur and other districts to see the water spill over as a waterfall and to explore the rocks at the foot of the dam. Its clear water and green surroundings have earned it the name Goa of Hadoti. Water birds are a further draw, among them storks, Indian skimmers and flamingos.
