Veeranimangalam Mahadeva Temple stands at Enkakkad village in the south of Wadakkancherry taluk, Thrissur district, on a plot of about two acres. Built in the Kerala-Dravidian style and more than 1,000 years old, it is one of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala, mentioned as Ambilikkad in the 108 Shivalaya Stotram, and folklore says Parashurama installed its linga. It is among the prominent temples of the taluk.
The whole complex faces west, with a large pond on that side. Shiva is the main deity, but Narasimha, also in a west-facing sanctum, is regarded as the presiding power, believed to have eased Shiva's anger. Maha Vishnu, Ganapathy, Ayyappan, Murugan, Krishna and the snake goddess are also worshipped.
