Tulja Bhavani Temple at Peddamunigal, also known as Munigal, stands on the banks of the Krishna River behind Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, surrounded by the Nallamala Forest in Nalgonda district, Telangana. It is said to be a home of the goddess Bhavani. Villagers began worshipping the goddess in the early 1900s in a small cloth hut, called a paal in the Lambada language, and the present temple went up in the mid-1950s under Kethavath Chandru Naik with local help.
A family, since called the Bhagath family, was appointed to serve the goddess and still performs the daily prayers. At the Tulja Yaadi Jaatara of 2016, allegedly about 10,000 animal sacrifices were offered; devotees believe such offerings bring health and wealth. Peddamunigal is about 130 km from Hyderabad by road, with the nearest railway station at Nalgonda, about 60 km away, and buses at Deverakonda.
