Mallela Theertham is a waterfall in the Nallamala Forest of Nagarkurnool district, Telangana, a forest through which the Krishna River also flows. The nearest town is Achampet; Srisailam is about 58 km away and Hyderabad around 185 km.
The falls lie deep in thick forest, and reaching them means walking down some 350 steps. The stream carries on through the jungle until it joins the Krishna. The place has religious associations: sages are said to have done penance here to Shiva, who is believed to have appeared before many of his devotees at the spot. Tigers are also believed to come here to drink during the summer.
