Thrikkunnathu Mahadeva Temple stands at Kanjany in Thrissur district, near the Karuvannur river, about 1 km from Kanjany Junction on the Thrissur–Triprayar bus route. Its presiding deity is Shiva, facing east, whose idol folklore says Parashurama installed, and it is one of the 108 famous Shiva temples of Kerala.
In a compound of about two acres, Shiva and Vishnu have separate temple complexes built in the Kerala-Dravidian style. Shiva's sanctum is round, roofed with copper sheets and divided into two inner chambers, while Vishnu's is square, tile-roofed and faces west. The temple has no flagmast; its annual festival falls in the Malayalam month of Dhanu.
