Thoseghar is a waterfall in Satara district and one of the tallest in India, with a total drop given as about 500 metres in a series of cascades into a deep gorge. It is seasonal and comes alive in the monsoon, when the streams swell into roaring falls.
Visitors cannot reach the base, but marked paths lead to a picnic area and a recently built viewing gallery that looks across the valley and its green cliffs. The trails are mostly well kept but slippery in the rains, and birds are often seen around the falls. Sajjangad Fort, the resting place of Samarth Ramdas Swami, Ajinkyatara Fort above Satara and the Kaas Plateau are all nearby.
