Tashi View Point is a lookout on a hilltop at the edge of Gangtok, reached by a winding road from the town. It faces the main Himalayan range and is one of the most visited viewpoints around the Sikkim capital.
On clear mornings the view stretches across forested valleys to a long line of snow peaks. Sunrise is the favourite time to come, when the first light turns the mountains pink and then gold. The spot is also used as a launch area for paragliding flights over the valley. Below the lookout, the slopes fall away into green valleys and terraced hillsides.
