01 — The story

The story

This temple is dedicated to Sai Baba of Shirdi and draws devotees from many places. Built with marble and granite, it has carved and painted walls, a garden at the entrance, a meditation area and an inner sanctum holding a statue of Sai Baba, with the sound of the sea close by.

Several stories are told about it. One says the idol was swept away in a storm and later turned up in a fisherman's net, after which he gave it back to the temple. Another tells of a blind man who prayed here and regained his sight. The temple also came through the 2001 Gujarat earthquake without damage.
