Rajbari National Park, also called Bison National Park, covers about 31.63 sq km inside the Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary in Tripura. It was created as a reserve for the Indian gaur, or bison, with the aim of restoring its habitat and guarding it against poachers. Rivulets and other water bodies in the sanctuary keep the park supplied with water.
The vegetation is varied, taking in tropical semi-evergreen forest, moist mixed deciduous forest, East Himalayan lower Bhabar sal and savannah woodland. The sanctuary counts some 230 tree species, 110 shrubs, 150 climbers and 400 herbs, including plentiful bamboo, which the gaur favour, and medicinal plants such as tulsi, rudraksha and kalmegh. Besides gaur, the wildlife includes deer, gibbons, langurs, wild boar, wild cats and leopards, and the birds include hornbills, the jungle myna, tailorbird, black drongo, white-breasted kingfisher and pheasant-tailed jacana.
