The story

Pandavkada Falls is a plunge waterfall about 107 m high at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, pouring onto rocky ground below. Legend says the Pandavas bathed beneath it during their exile, and that they came through a large tunnel within the falls, which gives the place its name. It lies about 4.5 km from Kharghar railway station, reached by bus, auto-rickshaw or car and then a short walk, and is a popular spot in the monsoon.

CIDCO has declared it a dangerous place. About 12 students drowned while swimming here in 2010, four in 2005 and four more in 2019, and a ban on entering the falls imposed after 2005 was later lifted. According to Kharghar police, visitors are charged 50 rupees each and go at their own risk.
