The story

The Jama Masjid in East Nerul, Navi Mumbai, also called the Nerul Aalami Markaz or Masjid-E-Tabligh, is Nerul's oldest and biggest mosque and among the principal mosques in Navi Mumbai. Completed in 1995 and later raised to three storeys, it has a main prayer hall without pillars that holds about 2,000 people for daily prayers and around 5,000 at Eid.

When the Tablighi Jamaat's leadership split in 2015, the mosque became the headquarters of the shura group, while the other faction remained at the Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. Scholars Ahmad Laat and Ebrahim Dewla lead it.
