The story

North Button Island National Park was established in 1979 and belongs to the Button islands of the Andamans. The island itself is small, about 19.5 hectares, and lies around 16 km from Long Island; the nearest airport is at Port Blair, roughly 90 km away.

Most of the island is covered with deciduous forest, and the climate is warm and humid. Wildlife includes water monitors and other lizards on land, while dugongs and dolphins are seen in the surrounding sea. December to March is considered the best period for a visit.
