The story

Nadapuram Iringannur Siva Temple stands at Iringannur village in Edacheri panchayat, Kozhikode district, and is one of the oldest temples in the district. Its deity is Shiva as Dakshinamurthy, and folklore says Parashurama installed the idol; it is one of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala and one of three Thrikkapaleeswaram temples named in the hymn of those temples, with Niranam and Kadachira.

The east-facing temple follows the Kerala style, with a two-tiered, tile-roofed rectangular sanctum that has four doors, only the eastern one opened. Shiva is believed to be present here as Sadashiva with only two eyes, and the village name is said to come from this: iru (two), kannu (eyes) and oor (place). Ganapathy, Ayyappan, Krishna and the snake goddess are also worshipped, and the temple and its pond have recently been renovated.
