Muktidham is a marble temple in the Nashik Road suburb of Nashik, raised in 1971 by J D Chauhan Bytco, an industrialist from the area. It is easy to reach by road and is popular because devotees can worship a large number of Hindu deities in one place rather than travelling between separate shrines.
The building is faced in white marble and follows Rajput architectural forms, with carved motifs covering the outer walls. Inside are wide halls with cool marble floors, a welcome relief in hot weather, and the mood is quiet and devotional, with chanting often heard as worshippers move from shrine to shrine. The pale stone gives the whole complex a calm, bright look.
