The story

The Mian Mishk Masjid, also called Masjid-e-Miya Misk, stands near Purana Pul in Hyderabad, a former mosque now partly in ruins. Its builder was Mian Mishk, a 17th-century noble at the court of Golconda's sixth king, Abdullah Qutb Shah, and an inscription over the western gateway dates it to 1674.

The complex includes a garam hammam, a hot bath, in keeping with the Islamic emphasis on cleanliness and purification. The mosque appears on the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority's list of 137 heritage structures but is not protected by the Archaeological Survey of India, and since 2018 the press has reported again and again on its neglected and crumbling condition.
