The story

Meenuliyan Para is a mountain near Thodupuzha in Idukki district, a massive rock formation rising above 4,000 feet whose surface looks like fish scales, which gives it its name. About two acres of evergreen forest grow on the summit.

The peak lies around 51 km from Thodupuzha and 47 km from Muvattupuzha, and the only way up is a 3 km footpath from Pattayakkudy in Vannappuram panchayat. In clear weather the top looks out over the Periyar region, the Bhoothathankettu dam and stretches of Ernakulam and Thrissur districts beyond.
