Officially named Sheth Motilal Hirabhai Park, Law Garden is a public park in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, named after the Law College next door. It occupies a triangular plot opposite the Gujarat Law Society, with C.G. Road to the west and the British Library and the Ravishankar Raval Kala Bhavan art gallery to the south. It was redeveloped under a public-private partnership, designed by Kamal Mangaldas and completed in 1997.
The garden covers about 10 acres with lawns, fountains, a small pond, a play area and an 855-metre jogging track. What draws most visitors, though, is the market along its walls. Food stalls serve walkers in the morning, pavement sellers offer clothes, jewellery and handicrafts through the day, and in the evening a food street fills with hawkers. That lane was rebuilt and reopened in 2020 as Happy Street.
