The story

Kaivalya Dham is a Jain pilgrimage temple built wholly of marble, also known as Shri Adinath Jain Shwetambar Tirth. It lies beside the Kharun river on the highway between Raipur and Durg, at Kumhari, and was raised by followers of the faith in honour of Adinath, the first Tirthankara, and the 23 who came after him.

An ornately worked main gate leads into the complex. At its centre stands the principal shrine of Adinath, and on either side a semicircle of smaller temples in matching style houses the other 23 Tirthankaras. The buildings carry fine carving and tall decorated spires. Devotees come to pray and seek blessings, and the quiet riverside setting also draws visitors for meditation and reflection.
