The story

Dudhadhari Math is a Hindu monastery and temple in Raipur dedicated to Rama, set on the banks of the Maharajbandh. It was founded in the 17th century by King Jait Singh, who is said to have meant it as a centre for spreading Rama's teachings, and it remains an important place of pilgrimage for Vaishnava devotees as well as a home for monks devoted to meditation and worship.

The name joins doodh, milk, and dhari, one who lives on it. It honours Mahant Balabhadra Das, an early head of the math and a devotee of Hanuman, who is said to have taken nothing all his life except milk that had first been offered to the gods. The buildings carry detailed carving, and the outer walls of the temple are decorated with sculptures from the story of Rama.
