Kainoor Shiva Temple stands at the centre of Kainoor village in Thrissur district, on the Thrissur–Manamangalam–Puthur route, beside the Manali river, a tributary of the Karuvannur. Its presiding deity is Shiva, facing east in the sanctum, and it is believed to be among Kerala's 108 Shiva temples, its idol installed by Parashurama.
In earlier times the Murajapam was recited here every day. An imposing gopuram, built recently, rises on the east side. Maha Shivarathri is celebrated in the month of Kumbham (February–March).
