The Jamshedpur Coin Museum is a small numismatic collection in the steel city of Jamshedpur, in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. It opened on 29 March 2009 and is counted among the more unusual museums in the state, given over entirely to money in its many historical forms.
The displays bring together rare coins struck in gold, silver, copper and iron, along with pieces cut from stone. Indian coinage forms the core of the collection, set beside foreign currency from around the world, including British pounds, American dollars, Russian roubles and Japanese yen. The spread of metals and countries makes it a compact introduction to how coinage has changed over time.
