Jakkur Lake, named after the Jakkur locality, is one of Bengaluru's biggest lakes, in the north of the city. It spreads over about 35 hectares and has several islands, which attract many birds.
The lake is popular with walkers and joggers, some of whom go round its roughly 4 km perimeter more than once, taking in the trees, plants and many species of bird along the way. It is open to all in two sessions a day, from 6 am to 9 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm.
