The Jaipur Wax Museum is housed within Nahargarh Fort, which has watched over Jaipur from the Aravalli ridge for more than two centuries, and it presents itself as the first wax museum in the world set inside a heritage monument. Its lifelike figures range from national leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi to international stars such as Michael Jackson.
The tour begins in the Hall of Icons. The Royal Darbar section shows the Maharajas and Maharanis of Jaipur in wax, along with a display called the Journey of the Jaipur Gemstone that traces the region's treasures and heirlooms, set off by hand-painted gold motifs. A restored Sheesh Mahal with mirror inlay forms part of the visit, and visitors can be photographed in royal costume.
