Hirwa Van is a man-made garden of 15 acres close to Vanganga Lake in Silvassa. It is dedicated to Hirwa, a local deity, and the name itself means green in the local language. Visitors enter through a pair of stone arches.
Inside, paths wind past trimmed lawns and flowerbeds of marigolds, petunias and roses, and artificial waterfalls spill over rocks. There is a play area for children, and families often picnic on the grass. In the evening a lit musical fountain plays in time with popular songs.
