Standing close to the Collector office in central Silvassa, this church ranks among the oldest in the area. The Portuguese raised it in the later part of the 1700s, using grey stone and a Gothic style whose detailing has led some to liken it to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
Inside, the main altar carries fine ornamental work, rows of wooden pews fill the nave, and one wall bears a painted mural of the Last Supper. An earthquake in 1912 left the building damaged; after lengthy repairs it opened again in June 1924. The society of Pila of Silvassa now looks after it.
