The story

Gurdwara Bal Lila Maini Sangat stands in a narrow lane near Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib in Patna, on the site of the house of King Fateh Chand Maini. His queen, who had no children, grew especially fond of the young Guru Gobind Singh, who often came to sit in her lap, bringing her great joy and spiritual comfort. At the child's request she fed him and his playmates boiled, salted gram.

That same boiled and salted gram is still handed out as prasad here. Unlike the other shrines of Patna Sahib, the gurdwara is looked after by Nirmala Sikhs. The old front door has a wood carving that is dated 28 August 1668, while the hall around the sanctum and the inner blocks of rooms have been rebuilt in recent decades.
