Elamgulam Sree Dharma Sastha Temple stands on the Main Eastern Highway (SH-8) in the village of Elamgulam, Kottayam district. Its deity is believed to be 800 years old, and written records begin from the time the Edapally royal family managed it; since 1978 it has been run by a broad committee drawn from several Hindu communities.
In 2018 the old brick-and-tile chuttambalam around the sanctum was taken down, and in January 2023 a new temple built entirely of stone, wood and copper was consecrated. Its walls are of black Krishnashila stone under copper roofs, the balikkalpura has a carved wooden ceiling with painted dragon-shaped corners, and each of the ten pillars of the aanakkottil carries a mural-painted sculpture of one of Vishnu's ten avatars. The compound wall is in the old aanappalla style. On the last day of the annual festival around 15 elephants gather for the Gajamela, followed by the Aanayoottu, when they are fed rice balls mixed with fruit and nuts.
