Dharmesvara Temple stands at Kondrahalli in Hoskote taluk, Bangalore Rural district, and is dedicated to Shiva as Dharmesvara. It is dated to the Chola period, around 1065 AD, though the temple's caretaker, Manjunath, speaks of a history of 5,000 years.
The site is believed to be where the Yaksha episode of the Mahabharata took place. Its pond is identified with the water where four of the Pandava brothers died while fetching a drink; in the legend Dharmaraja then answered the Yaksha's 248 questions and won from Yama the boon of their return to life.
