The story

Dada Darbar is a Hindu shrine in Khandwa, in the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh, named after the saint Dadaji Dhuniwale. It stands on the spot where he is remembered, and devotees regard the ground as made holy by his samadhi. Followers know him as Shri Keshwanand Ji Maharaj, or Bade Dadaji, and describe him as an Avadhoot, a saint wholly absorbed in the supreme consciousness.

Little is recorded of his early life, and his birth details are not known. He came to Khandwa from Barwaha in 1930 and took Mahasamadhi on 3 December that year. His following has since spread widely, with twenty-seven Dhams in India and abroad bearing his name, and the Khandwa shrine remains the focus for devotees who come to honour him.
