The story

Chakratirth Beach lies right beside Diu town, with white sand and blue water. It is known as Sunset Point, and locals and visitors gather here in the evening to watch the sun go down over the sea.

The name refers to a sacred chakra, or disc. In the legend, sages harassed by demons during their penance asked Lord Brahma for help, and he made a wheel from the rays of the sun and told them to settle wherever it stopped. It came to rest here and released a spring so forceful that the sages turned to Goddess Lalita Devi, who set the chakra again to calm the flow.
