The story

The Warangal Museum is run by the Archaeological Survey of India inside the musical garden complex in Warangal. A single-storey building holds Hindu, Buddhist and Jain sculpture from the region, including an 11th-century image of the Jain Tirthankara Parsvanatha and a 12th-century Shanmukha, or Skanda.

In the garden stand a large Nandi and several Shaiva sculptures, along with a marble Buddha and a figure of Chamunda. The collection also includes ancient coins and pieces of pottery found locally, and displays describe the Kakatiya temple sites of the area, such as the 13th-century temples at Pillalamarri.
