Sreenarayanapuram Temple, an ancient shrine of Mahavishnu, is at Manakala, about 4 km from Adoor in Pathanamthitta district, at a height of roughly 57 metres above sea level.
It is known above all for its yearly Dasavatarachartu festival, which lasts ten days. On each day one of the ten avatars of Mahavishnu, from the Dasavatara, is the focus of worship, so that over the festival all ten are honoured in turn. Sreenarayanapuram is among only a handful of Vishnu temples in Kerala that hold this festival.
