The Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, is dedicated to Ganesha in his form as Siddhivinayak, the granter of success. Ganesha is worshipped as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and new beginnings, and large numbers of devotees come here to pray before starting a venture or when facing difficulties.
The temple was founded by Laxman Vithu Patil together with Deubai Patil, and it has been renovated and enlarged many times into the building seen now. Its design joins a traditional Hindu temple form with modern features, including carved pillars, spires and decorative detailing.
